Travelling or Relocating with Your Pet to Hong Kong
The following is a summary of requirements for importing pets to Hong Kong:
Animal Health Certificate – dated within 2 weeks of the day of departure, certifying the animal is free from any clinical signs of infectious or contagious disease. Must include microchip details (AVID chips preferable).
Residence Certificate – stating that the animal has been continuously residing in the country of origin for the last 180 days or since birth.
Other Major Infectious Diseases Certificate – certifying that the following vaccines were done between 1 year and 10 days prior to entry:
Dogs – DHPP
Cats – FVRCPC
Airline certificate – stating that the animal traveled the entire journey on the one aircraft without leaving it en-route, and without stopping/changing over at another point, or come into contact with any other animals.
Dogs and cats require a Special Permit to gain entry. To apply for this permit, you must submit an application – there is a permit fee at time of application. Permits are valid for 6 months.
