Travelling or Relocating with Your Pet to the UK

The following is a summary of requirements for importing pets to UK:

Microchip

Rabies Vaccination – any time after the microchip has been inserted.

Rabies Titre – a blood sample must be taken after vaccinating to ensure a blood titre of at least 0.5IU/ml and be analyzed by an EU-approved laboratory. The test must show the animal’s microchip number. Must be taken at least 6 months before entry into the UK.

Treatment for Ticks and Tapeworm – not less than 24 hours and not more than 48 hours before starting the journey.
